For Spring Break...

we went to Pima to visit family and to Mesa for a reunion. In Pima I helped Heidi make some meals to keep in the freezer for when she has her baby in a couple of weeks. We had to run to Safford to get a few things before we started so we took all seven kids, Heidi and I in one car...probably not the safest, however it was the funnest...oh ya, we picked up another little boy that Heidi was going to babysit in Safford...now ten total, yikes! My girls had fun playing with the boys while we cooked. We got five meals ready for her. Thanks for the good time and great cookbook, Heid! While we were in Pima, Grandpa Joe had the water on the lawn...how tempting. Yep, the girls couldn't resist, pretty soon they were running through the water and having a good time. It was great to see Grandma and Grandpa...thanks for letting us stay with you and fixing us great food to eat! Friday...Cyndi and Cassi came so we got to see them and their girls. We don't get to see them very often, so it was good that the girls got reaquainted and we got to visit...always a good time. I am very sad that I didn't have my camera for the memories...

On Saturday morning we drove to Mesa for a Hunt Reunion...Robert's mom's family. We went to a wonderful park, had a cookout...

to much fun and heat makes you...

We had a great time!!! It was good to see all of you!

You're invited...

to be in the club. Heidi is going to be having her fourth boy on April 11th, so I went to help her prepare some freezer meals during spring break. She has this AWESOME cookbook... Girlfriends on the Go...I had to go buy one. Everything in it can be frozen for later meals. The main idea for the book is to have a little "freezer meal club". Each person makes 10 of the same meal then get together once a month (or how ever often you choose) and switch, so you go home with 10 different freezer meals. The dinners are actually normal food...not crazy ones. If you want to be in the little club let me know or I will have to recruit.

Hydrangeas...

aren't they gorgeous! I have been researching to find something that will grown in my front flowerbed. Our house is north-facing, so it is shady the entire day...a bit hard to plant things, especially something that will flower. I am ready to get things growing around the house, however it still has potential to freeze here, so we are still on hold. In my research I found that hydrangea bushes are best planted in the shade with moist soil...perfect!!! When we water the grass it also waters the flowerbed keeping it pretty moist. Then my thoughts were where do I get hydrangeas in my town. Things are pretty scarce here with our five stores. So I was shopping the other day in BASHAS and of course that's where all people shop for their plants, right??? A lady was marking down the potted plants and my flowers were there. I was pretty excited to find exactly what I was looking for just a few days before. So I will keep them as my springy centerpiece until it warms up enough to plant them outside. When they grow to be a bush they are completely covered with these balls of cute, little flowers. I love beautiful yards and simple things make me happy!!!

My Easter eggs...

That's what the girls looked like in their new Easter dresses. My amazing mom and sister whipped these out along with one more for my sister's little girl (her's was turquoise) one afternoon. We decided that they looked like bright little easter eggs. Thanks so much mom and Abbi for the adorable dresses. Everyone at church loved their dresses...again!

Good Friday...

didn't start off being a Good Friday. By 9:30 the girls were already driving me nuts. Mk & K had the day off and I guess we can blame it on the weather. It was a beautiful day, so now that I am not bugged I can say that they just were excited to be out of school and starting Spring Break. I went outside and started raking the backyard (rocks and dead weeds) then all of the girls came outside and played. I guess that was my therapy, because after that I felt better and the rest of the day was great! Happy Spring Break!!!

New First Presidency Picture

So I was checking out friends blogs and I am stealing this for my blog (thanks Amie). Don't they look great! I am so excited to hear from them in a few weeks. Yeah, a Sunday off...jk! Just thought you might want to see the new picture.

New recipe...

Slow-cooker Enchiladas. These are wonderful for crazy nights like tonight. My Thursday afternoons are always crazy. Mk has piano, then the girls have gymnastics, and I go play volleyball, so crockpot meals are always great on Thursday nights.

Entertaining...Little...White...Coconut

R was umpiring a softball game this afternoon and he called and wanted his sunflower seeds, so we all got in the Coconut (our little white car) and went to the game. It was pretty cold so we stayed in the car and watched. The girls were in the back playing and I think it was Ry that found a little pully-thing. What did it do? It pulled down the back seat into the trunk. How fun is that? Mk was arranging everyone in the trunk and K asked if there were spiders in there? She is such a girl. Once everyone was in their spot Mk would put up the seat and they would all start laughing. I'm glad that they found something to entertain them in the little, white Coconut!

Personality Change

R & B were sitting on the couch while I was at the computer. When I turned around I saw this cute moment, so I took some pictures...most didn't turn out because of the light from the window. This was the best one, so sorry it's not real good. B's is growing up and her personality is getting so fun. She is laughing a lot and doing funny things to make others laugh. She was sitting on R's lap and he was tickling her and she kept coming back for more. She has always pretty much been a mama's girl, so it is good that she is enjoying her daddy!

Brain hard at work

Last night R's sister, Shamane, brought in a friend she had brought home and was introducing her to the girls. She says this is my friend, Shyron, from Beijing. As Shamane was talking to K, Mk leans over to R totally serious whispers, "she doesn't look like she's from Beijing she looks like she's from China." R came in and told me in the other room and we both could not stop laughing!

How do you...

spell Mississippi with only one i?

{I took a picture and it didn't turn out, so I'll take another later...just had to post}

Cover one eye...M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I.

Remember 2nd grade? I totally remember when I learned how to spell Mississippi, and would go around spelling it out loud. That's Mk right now. It is funny the things that she comes home doing and R & I say remember when we did that. Crazy to think that she is old enough to start doing things that she will remember.

Journey Through Life

Last night our ward had an Enrichment with the theme Journey Through Life...I felt really inspired after leaving. We had a progressive dinner, but at every house we talked about something to make our journey through life better. The first was to have GRATITUDE...being grateful will make you a happier person and make life a little easier. At the main dish we kind of had a get to know you game. The last stop was wonderful! It was about SAVORING THE MOMENTS OF LIFE...taking 2-3 times a day and stop and think about that moment. One of her comments was that we have all stopped to look at a sleeping baby or child and think how precious they were, but have we stopped to look at our children playing and think the same. How many times do we say, "hurry" to our little kids or families? Instead, we need to appreciate the MOMENTS in our life. I am totally guilty of this...I say "hurry" or "let's go" all the time...I guess this was for me. I need to slow down and enjoy the MOMENTS of life. It reminded me of a saying that I love...LIFE is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Just a little inspiration...hope you have a great day!

Ry's 4th birthday!

The invitation...

which was a Park Party. I got a bit nervous because it snowed yesterday, but today was perfect. We invited a few friends and had fun playing at the park, then we cooked and ate hotdogs...just what every kid loves...enough to just kick off your shoes and enjoy the day!

opened gifts...

and ate cupcakes.

I always think that four-year old birthday parties are so cute, because they understand the friend thing and that the friends gave them the gifts. I don't know about boys, but girls are excited with just about anything! It was cute to see her so excited for every gift! Happy birthday Ry-Ry...sure love ya and your cute little self!

The BIG 31...

Happy Birthday, Robert!!! R always gives me the most thoughtful gifts and I can never think of anything original for him, so I actually thought about something this year. I kept debating whether have a surprise party or not...finally I decided that we never go out by ourselves, so he was stuck with me tonight. I had a dinner reservation at his favorite restraunt...Molly Butler's. Then I had talked to my friend who works up there and gotten a room for the night in Greer. When we got there to eat they had decorated a table just for him...thanks Nancy! He always gets the "Robert Haws Prime Rib" which is a 2-2 1/2 inch piece of rare meat. He loves it...I have to admit it is pretty good! He got an extra special birthday dinner, he said that it was probably the biggest piece that he had ever gotten. While we were there I ran into my best friend from high school, Kanani. Her and her husband came up to go snowboarding and came in to eat. It was so good to see them! Anyways I had this big plan of surprising him with a great night out alone. When they brought the bill they had the key inside. He saw it and looked a bit confused at first then I said we are going to stay here for the night. At first he thought that was totally ridiculous that we were staying 15 minutes from home. After we watched the Suns until halftime we went to the room. It was pretty nice to have a night without kiddos, however we were home by 7 am. Hope you had a great birthday, Fred! I love you!!!!

My mom is the favorite...

she is the most amazing seamstress. Today she came over so that we could finish up making the bedskirts for Ry & B's bedroom. I ordered the bedspreads about six months ago, I loved them, but it only came with the spread and sham so I didn't know how I was going to finish. Finally, I decided on the paint (thanks Cyndi for the inspiration...I love the hot pink), and the trim. Then we found the material. The curtains are all that is left, so mom took them to finish. Now with the beds done I need to get the headboards made and dresser of some sort and get all the accessories up. I love girls and pink! Thanks so much mom for coming to help me today!

Weekend alone

I was suppose to have this great weekend by myself to do what I wanted, when I wanted. Since the girls had been sick, R decided that I could just take to puppies to the valley to sell and go play with my sister for the weekend. I drove down on Thursday evening and I kept waking up all night wondering if it was morning or not. Anyways when I finally did wake up (at 10 am...I never sleep past 8) I just laid there. I was so achy and felt crappy. I was at Robert's sister's house, so I took a hot bath to see if that would make me feel better...nope. So for my great weekend alone, of course not. I drove home Friday morning, stopping two times on the way home to take a little nap. I could either fall asleep driving or sleep and get beheaded on the side of the road...pick your poison. I decided to sleep. I called our doc before leaving the valley and said I'm in the valley and I think I have strep, but I'm coming home right now. He called in a prescription for me to get when I got into town. I went straight to bed for two days. Then I got what I call a compassion ear infection. Holy cow...I think they are worse than any sickness. Put your hand on your ear, hurts...put your head on the pillow, hurts. The pain just doesn't go away. I had some numbing ear stuff in the cupboard that works great. It feels better, although now I also have compassion for deaf people. I cannot hear out of my right ear and it's pretty annoying. My girls get ear infections all the time...now I will have way more compassion for them and make sure I always use the numbing stuff. I finally feel better and have some energy today. Hopefully I will have more exciting things to write about than she's sick, I'm sick...pity me! Mame...someday I will come and play for real...no excuses!
